The 8th Indonesia Steinway Youth Piano Competition is set to begin soon! This prestigious competition is held every two years, celebrating young musical talents and providing a platform for aspiring pianists to perform, refine, and progress. Beyond the competition, this event invites pianists of all ages to challenge their craft while immersing themselves in a community dedicated to musical excellence.
The 2027 Indonesia Steinway Youth Piano Competition (ISYPC) commences with the Semifinal Round held in three major musical hubs: Jakarta, Surabaya, and Semarang. Participants are welcome to select and compete in the city of their choice before advancing to the Final Round in Jakarta, where the selected finalists from each semi finals will come together to compete on one stage.
The competition features three categories: Professional, Amateur, and Joy of Music. The first prize of Professional category C will earn the honor of representing Indonesia at the Steinway Youth Piano Competition Southeast Asia Regional Finals, where talented young pianists from 8 Southeast Asian Countries : Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam will compete for a place at the International Steinway Festival.
The Amateur category is curated for dedicated pianists wishing to showcase their musical evolution and gain invaluable stage experience. Meanwhile, the Joy of Music category offers a non-competitive celebration of musical expression, welcoming pianists of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds to share their passion on a world-class Steinway piano.
The 8th Steinway Regional Finals Southeast Asia Pacific in 2027 features fantastic pianists each representing their country. One regional representative will be selected to join the International Steinway Festival in Hamburg, Germany.
The International Steinway Festival is the culmination of the Steinway Youth Piano Competition journey. Held biennially by Steinway & Sons, it brings together outstanding young pianists from around the world, with only one representative from each participating region earning the honour of performing on this prestigious international stage. More than a festival, it is a celebration of musical excellence, artistic inspiration, and the global Steinway community.
