The First Prize Winner of Professional Category C will represent Indonesia
in the Southeast Asia Pacific Regional Finals 2027
Professional Category
A : ages 11 and below ( born on or after 31st July 2016)
B : ages 14 and below ( born on or after 31st July 2013)
C : ages 17 and below ( born on or after 31st July 2010)
General Rules for All Rounds
All performances must be from memory.
Contestants must perform all repertoire pieces as stated in the application form.
Contestants are expected to wear formal attire during the competition.
Works for solo piano only.
Classical repertoire (Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Twentieth Century) are acceptable.
Works by modern composers or those composed in the 21st century are not permitted.
Original compositions, improvisations, concertos, transcription, are not permitted.
Contestants must provide complete program details, including composer, title, key, catalog numbers (Op., No., Hob., K., etc).
Confirmed repertoire cannot be changed after submission.
Contestants must ensure their repertoire meets all competition guidelines
Semifinals:
Total duration maximum 10 minutes:
One (1) Etude,
One (1) own-choice contrasting classical repertoire (Baroque, Classical, Romantic, or Twentieth Century) – Only for Professional A category, 1st movement of a Sonatina is permitted.
Finals:
Total duration maximum 20 minutes:
One (1) first movement of a Sonata from classical period, (Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Clementi or Schubert)
Only for Professional A category, 1st movement of a Sonatina is permitted, such as by Clementi, Diabelli, Kuhlau, Spindler
Two (2) or more own-choice contrasting classical repertoire (Only 1 Repertoire from the Semifinal Round may be repeated.)
The professional category is open only for Indonesian citizens, both residing in and out of the country.
Amateur and Joy of Music categories are open for all nationalities residing in Indonesia.
The participant is not a professional musician under a management or agency.
Winners from each category of previous ISYPC competitions are eligible to participate in a different category (a higher age category) in the 8th ISYPC, provided they meet the applicable age requirements.
Participants are required to perform all the registered repertoire, in free order.
The order of performance will be determined by a draw conducted during re-registration. The draw must be completed by the participant or their designated representative.
Registration fee is not refundable.
Participant information should be complete and honest. Participants with false or inaccurate information will be disqualified.
Participants are allowed to join more than one category
Juries will stop performances that exceed the duration requirements
Juries who have taught or conducted a masterclass for any participant within six (6) months prior to the competition shall refrain from scoring that participant.
Participants will not receive Jury’s comment sheets
Juries Decisions are final
Each participant is responsible for their own belongings, the committee is not responsible for damaged or lost belongings
All participants are required to comply with all the competition requirements and rules. Participants who do not comply will be disqualified.
All awards and prizes are not to be converted to any other form and transferred to other people.
The Organizing Committee reserves the right to photograph, record, and document participants’ performances and to use such materials for promotional, educational, archival, or other future purposes without further compensation.
No photography, audio recording, or video recording by participants or audience members is permitted during the competition. Official documentation will be carried out and provided by the Organizing Committee.
Participants are responsible for arriving on time for their scheduled performance. The Organizing Committee shall not be held responsible for any consequences resulting from a participant’s late arrival or absence.
The Jury reserves the right not to award a prize or declare a winner in any category if, in its judgment, no participant meets the required competition standards.
Participants shall be responsible for all transportation and accommodation expenses incurred for all rounds of the competition.
The 1st Prize Winner of the Professional C Category must comply with all requirements established by the Steinway Regional Committee. Should the winner fail to satisfy these requirements or be unable to participate in the Steinway Regional Finals on the scheduled dates, the Jury Panel reserves the right to appoint an alternate participant.
The Organizing Committee shall provide transportation and accommodation for the 1st Prize Winner of the Professional C Category who advances to the Steinway Regional Finals. This support applies to the participant only.
Should the Indonesian representative be selected to advance to the International Steinway Festival, the Organizing Committee shall cover the transportation and accommodation expenses of the selected participant only.
