Steinway Indonesia proudly presented J.S. Bach Music Explained, an educational piano seminar featuring Asst. Prof. Alberto Firrincieli, offering an in-depth exploration of selected keyboard works by Johann Sebastian Bach.
Held on Sunday, 11 October 2026, at Steinway Gallery, Central Park, Jakarta, the seminar was delivered through a SpirioCast livestream from Thailand. Combining musical performance, re-composition, and analytical discussion, the session explored key elements of Bach’s musical language, including cadences and figured bass, improvisation and ornamentation, as well as articulation and cantabile playing on the modern piano.
Through this approach, participants were invited to look beyond the notes and gain a deeper understanding of the musical structures, interpretative choices, and expressive techniques that shape Bach’s compositions.
Exploring Bach Through Performance and Analysis
The seminar brought historical musical concepts into the context of modern piano performance, demonstrating how an understanding of Bach’s compositional language can enrich interpretation and musical expression. Through Asst. Prof. Alberto Firrincieli’s insights, the session connected theoretical knowledge with practical approaches to performing Bach’s works.
Presented through Steinway SpirioCast, the seminar also connected audiences in Jakarta with an international learning experience from Thailand. This reflects Steinway Indonesia’s commitment to supporting musical education and creating opportunities for pianists and music enthusiasts to deepen their understanding of piano repertoire.
