Artist Residency May 2023 with Steinway Top Teacher Dr. Cicilia Yudha

Dr. Cicilia Yudha, or as some of her close friends call “Iin”, is an Indonesian born concert pianist and educator who now teaches piano performance, chamber music, and piano pedagogy at Dana School of Music, Youngstown State University (Ohio, USA). We had the amazing opportunity to host an artist residency that included a piano pedagogy seminar, solo piano recital, masterclasses, IPTC Open Student Recital with written feedback, and post recital dialogue with IPTC members and Dr. Cicilia Yudha.

The events of the residency took place at Hening Hall, a designated recital space with a capacity of 50 pax, at the new Steinway Gallery in Central Park. In total, almost 200 people of various backgrounds attended one or more events of the residency. We were encouraged to hear that some of the teachers who attended the pedagogy seminar, How to Cultivate Artistry in Every Level of Teaching, were able to right away implement some of Dr. Cicilia’s tips, and these changes were seen in their students’ performances during the Student Recital.

We hope to be able to do many more events in the future with Dr. Cicilia Yudha via Steinway Spirio, the breakthrough Steinway piano which uses cutting edge audio technology to create self-playing piano with high resolution recording capacity.
