Steinway Indonesia proudly presented the official Kick Off of the 8th Indonesia Steinway Youth Piano Competition 2027, marking the beginning of a new chapter in a continued journey dedicated to nurturing young pianists and celebrating musical excellence in Indonesia.

Held on Thursday, 17 September 2026, at Steinway Gallery Jakarta, the event brought together young pianists, parents, educators, and members of the music community for an inspiring gathering centered around artistry, achievement, and the future of piano music.

The occasion featured a special performance by Pieter Gunawan, First Prize Winner of ISYPC 2018. Returning to the ISYPC stage years after his own competition journey, Pieter's performance offered an inspiring reminder of how dedication and musical passion can shape the journey of a young pianist. The event also featured a special jury talkshow with Dr. Martin Kesuma, award-winning pianist and educator, who shared his perspectives on musical development, performance, and the journey of young pianists.
 

A New Chapter for Young Pianists

The Kick Off 2027 marked the beginning of another chapter in the Indonesia Steinway Youth Piano Competition, continuing Steinway Indonesia's commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for young musicians to perform, learn, and develop their artistry.

From the inspiring performance of a former First Prize Winner to the insights shared by an accomplished pianist and educator, the event celebrated the many stages of a young pianist's journey. The occasion also reached a wider audience through live streaming on House of Piano's YouTube channel and Steinway Indonesia's Instagram, allowing music lovers beyond the gallery to be part of the celebration.

As the 8th Indonesia Steinway Youth Piano Competition moves forward, a new generation of young pianists begins their own journey toward the stage, carrying with them the dedication, passion, and pursuit of musical excellence that define the spirit of ISYPC.
