House of Piano and Gitanada Music Society are delighted to present Calvin Abdiel: Visions & Transformations, a special solo piano recital featuring one of Indonesia’s promising young pianists ahead of his journey to the international stage.

Fresh from passing the preliminary round of the prestigious Franz Liszt International Piano Competition 2026, Calvin Abdiel will present a captivating program dedicated to the music of Franz Liszt, exploring the virtuosity, poetic expression, and dramatic character of his works. The program features Au bord d'une source, Les Jeux d'eaux à la Villa d'Este, Réminiscences de Don Juan, Légende No. 2, and the monumental Sonata in B minor.

An award-winning pianist, Calvin Abdiel has received recognition through competitions including the 27th Mauro Paolo Monopoli Prize in Barletta, Italy, the Ananda Sukarlan Award International Piano Competition, and the Sydney International Piano Competition. His upcoming recital marks an important moment as he prepares to represent his artistry on the international stage.

For this special performance, Calvin Abdiel will perform on the Boston Performance II Grand Piano, offering audiences an opportunity to experience its rich tonal character and expressive capabilities alongside Liszt’s demanding and evocative repertoire.

As part of this special program, Calvin Abdiel will also lead a Piano Masterclass at the Steinway Gallery, offering pianists and music students an opportunity to gain valuable insights into musical interpretation, performance, and artistry.
