Wilson Chu

Wilson Chu, a multi-faceted concert pianist, improviser, composer, and pedagogue, has achieved exceptional accomplishments in his career. He holds the Indonesian record for the highest ABRSM Piano Grade 8 score at age 15 and received full scholarships for his studies at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts Singapore and Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where he earned First Class Honors Bachelor and Masters degrees. His esteemed teachers include Aaron Shorr, Jonathan Plowright, and Steven Osborne.

Wilson has won numerous international prizes, including the Lamond Prize, Russian Prize, Duo Lieder Prize, and Debussy Prize, and has performed with the RCS Symphony Orchestra and Glasgow Chamber Orchestra. He has given recitals in various cities worldwide and has been featured in international press, such as The Straits Times Singapore and The Herald Scotland.

As a dedicated educator, Wilson enjoys teaching, giving masterclasses, and adjudicating international piano competitions. His students have won numerous international prizes, and he has been recognized as a Steinway Teacher & Educational Partner (STEP) in Indonesia and appointed as Ambassador of Royal Conservatoire of Scotland for Indonesia and Asia. Currently, Wilson serves as Associate Professor of Piano at Chengdu University's College of Chinese & ASEAN Arts, leading the recruitment committee and inspiring the next generation of musicians.
